Level design and the game design document are both very complementary. Level design defines the level layout, the pace of the game, the tutorials. It allows to detail the graphics and the mechanics which remain stable to create a homogeneous identity throughout the game and the elements which change to bring diversity and increase the difficulty.
The evolution of the levels during the game is important so that the players want to progress in the next parts.
